Launching a new collection is always an exciting time, seeing what our clients are selecting in the first days of the season and starting to watch the weekly sales as the season progresses. I have always loved the selling of a collection as much as creating it, as for me, the sales are a confirmation of the ideas and styles that go into making each collection season after season. I particularly love this process at J.Hilburn as I find it enormously satisfying building a wardrobe for our clients, making them look and feel great with collections that they connect to and build upon each season.

Custom-made suiting is at the heart of what we do today, with established and new clients knowing the incredible value at every price point we offer in the menswear market. Working with our Italian mills is an enormous privilege for me, as well as working with teams at each mill that I have known for most of my career, both here in the USA and even before that when I lived and worked out of Italy. I know the qualities they offer, Revenge from Vitale Barberis, Summertime, or Zealander from Loro Piana are more than just cloths for me but almost like good friends that I enjoy the company of year after year. I am in awe and gratefully respectful each season of the know-how and passion that goes into making each yard of cloth woven in the hills just north of Milan and south of the Alps.

Technology is a big part of modern suiting, with comfort and practicality built into the cloths we offer today, giving clients fabrics that not only look great with colorations and exclusive pattern work but also work effortlessly for him and his modern lifestyle. When working with our mills, I prefer to partner on cloths that I know will work well on a business trip, make it easy to get in and out of a car in, and don’t need to be reconditioned after every wear. I leave the fitting of our clients to you, my Stylist colleagues, but I select fabrics for him not only to make him look good but also to make it easy for him to wear so he gets the full value of J.Hilburn. Wearing his J.Hilburn should give him the confidence to discover that our differences and uniqueness are what makes J.Hilburn his favorite.

Having the fabric deck sorted by tiers should help you when working with a client’s budget, offering newness to him within an accessible price range that works for his wallet. Having accessible opening price points is designed particularly for new clients who may be coming from ready-to-wear with preconceived ideas that custom may be out of his reach.
